It's Paris in the springtime for Brand Beckham!

Bonjour Beckham: metrosexual Becks in Gay Paris
David Beckham's next five months will be consumed by foot a Paris! Yes, PSG in the springtime for the 37-year-old England cap centurion!

There’s a lot I suspect about this deal we don’t know – and in the scheme of things don’t need to.

As with a spell at Milan, where it’s understood he paid to make the loan deal possible, the move to Paris St Germain may indeed be a giant contra deal where both parties win.
The club get a halo of Team Beckham glitter for 5 months and the player manages a final – if stunted shot – at playing at the very highest level in the Champions League – although just how much of a contribution he can make at 37 in that arena remains to be seen.

But Beckham’s ambition is never-ending. There’s never been a global football superstar of his kind – because his celebrity transcends the Beautiful Game.
He’s acting like a modern day diplomat, jetting around the world – doing deals with the new elites of the new world order. Let’s not forget, PSG are owned by the Qataris.

He’s a trailblazer for future sports superstars, showing that being a media personality carries with it global softpower that used only to be the gift of kings, politicians and institutions.

But he can still take a mean set-piece.

John Terry NOT GUILTY of racial abuse

John Terry's been found NOT guilty of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand. Chief Magistrate Howard Riddle said the case was not about 'whether Mr Terry was a racist in the broadest sense of the word'.

He said he'd heard a great deal of evidence to show that he was not.

The 31-year-old left court within minutes of the verdict, making no comment as a group of Chelsea fans waiting outside cheered as he walked by.

Mr Terry was accused of calling Ferdinand a "f****** black c***" during a Premier League match between Chelsea and QPR last October.

Concluding his statement, Riddle said: 'Weighing all the evidence together, I think it is highly unlikely that Mr Ferdinand accused Mr Terry on the pitch of calling him a b**** c***.

Terry vehemently denied he was racist and claimed the video took him out of context. “I thought Anton was accusing me of using a racist slur against him. I responded aggressively, saying that I never used that term. I will fight this charge tooth and nail”, he said. Amid all the TV camera angles there've been, this uncensored close-up of Terry was the clearest evidence of a strong case to be answered.

Terry was no ordinary person at the dock, and although he shouldn't have been treated any differently from anyone else facing charges of racism, he was in a position of responsibility to behave inside boundaries. Despite his repeated horridness, incredibly some fans continue to look upto him.

OVER TO THE FA NOW

But the collateral damage of this case could still hang over his life and playing career. The Football Association have 'noted' the case and may still punish Terry in some way.

Football can and should punish him on the basis that he doesn't deny using those choice of words on a pitch in front of thousands of fans and millions on TV.

Society simply can't afford to tolerate this kind of alleged behaviour from a player of his standing and level.

No one will believe football's story of standing against racism and other forms of prejudice if the authorities don't act.

Summer tours set to change the Premier League forever

The Premier League is colonizing the summer months to spread their gospel around the world. Every club is embarking on a summer tour in some far-flung outpost, some are even hopping across three different continents in pursuit of a burgeoning fanbase.

QPR bid for Beckham

Becks: out and about in LA
It's the story that won't go away. Armed with big bucks, Queen's Park Rangers are holding on to their dream of bringing David Beckham back to the Premier League.

The former England, but future Team GB skipper's looking for full match fitness in England as his own dream of playing for all four home nations at London 2012 beckons (Beckhams?)

Arab-owned Paris St.Germain fished around for his signature for a short while, but it's Tony Fernandes and his hurriedly assembled reputation for pro-active wheeler-dealing in the transfer market that gives this one legs.

Beckham's 37; he's probably played his last game for England (lap of honour/last-minute sub appearance possibility aside) - and a top Champions League club won't be in a hurry to sign him up now.
Without tattoos, image awaiting overlay.

It's left to clubs looking for an injection of showbiz that'll attract Beckham, particularly a London one like the R's.

Spurs were keen, but they've progressed too far under Harry Redknapp - and interest cooled after that Achilles tendon snap just before last summer's World Cup which more or less ended Beckham's top-level career.

Rangers looked surefire fodder for the drop after the opening day 4-nil drubbing at home to Bolton, but the arrivals of Luke Young, Joey Barton, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Jay Bothroyd and Anton Ferdinand give them craft, number, depth and experience. Beckham would add a stupendous round of applause when he was subbed too! 23 Beckham in hoops? lovely for the Rangers faithful.

I hope this transfer happens. It's perfect timing, a perfect setting and frankly, time is being called on the multi-haircutted one's illustrious career.

Because the Ravens will have left Beckingham Palace this time next year.

Second guessing Queen's Park Rangers' fate.

As QPR face Leeds United in the final game of their Championship-winning season, we're still no nearer knowing whether they'll be playing in the Premier League next season.

Despite the transgressions of West Ham, who it was decided had benefited from the purchase of Carlos Tevez at the expense of Sheffield United, there's no precedent for the alleged transgressions that Rangers have committed.

QPR are promoted as champions and will be awarded the trophy today, but face seven charges relating to the £3.5million registration of midfielder Alejandro Faurlin in 2009. The club deny everything.

They're represented by Ian Mill QC, who acted for the Blades during the Tevez affair which saw the rules on third-party ownership clarified.

The four-man three-day hearing began at Wembley on Tuesday and it's impossible to guess the outcome of their decision. So I'm going to try. The verdict was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but I think by delaying it they're boxing clever.

Faced by Mill, the QC with the fearsome reputation and the combined ownership of Bernie Ecclestone, Flavio Briatore and Lakshmi Mittal, the Commission needn't draw on anything similar previously and can be seen to look tough without materially changing QPR's promotion.

Therefore, I predict a points deduction which keeps them above third-placed Cardiff, and a six-figure fine. It'll rob them of the title but won't stop the promotion party. The playoffs won't be moved and life will go on.

Governing bodies are running scared in the era of multinational ownership, financial muscle and legal henchman, and this affair will no different.

I Hate Football

A disenfranchised Queen's Park Rangers fan wrote this. These aren't my opinions but have a read -  how far away are you to feeling this?

"...I take more pleasure in seeing Chelsea lose than I do in seeing QPR win at the moment.

I sat through so many matches when we were absolute dog**** under the likes of Ray Harford and with people like Paul Bruce, Matthew Brazier and Mark Perry in the squad and I never felt like this.

The club isn't ours anymore but moreso than that - football is just properly ga*h these days. I mean really ga*h.

Football generally.

I hate nearly everything about it these days....

I hate the Prem and the myth that it is exciting this year. Man City breaking into the top four isn't exciting. They spent loads of money. It's no more exciting that Nameless C*** getting to number 1 in the charts after winning the X-Factor.

I hate the myth of Arsene's kids. Buying some French kid when he's 17, playing him in the League Cup and then selling him when he's 20 after about 3 appearances in the league is NOTHING SPECIAL.

I hate hearing about Liverpool/Man Utd's debt but nothing ever happening about it. A club needs to go to the wall for the money thing to change but it doesn't happen. Why the **** are Charlton, Leeds and Southampton still in business?

I hate Frank Lampard's stupid ****ing face. I hate that Joe Cole's tongue is never in his mouth, the downsy spacker. I hate John Terry being England captain when he's CLEARLY AN OAF.

I hate young exciting wingers who have nothing but pace. Tony Scully had nothing but pace.

I hate Harry ****ing Redknapp. And Jamie Redknapp. And Louise Redknapp.. And the Wii.

I hate Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer.

I hate Garth Crooks.I hate Garth Brooks a lot for that matter.

I hate that when a lower league player beats 10 players and chips the keeper it doesn't matter but if Rooney scores from more than 20 yards it's amazing.

I hate that female sports journos are now mandatory.

I hate Mark Lawrenson for not coming out. 'I do like a big man at the back'. I bet you do.

I hate any advert that portrays football to be about anything other than pain and disappointment.

I hate Lee Hughes and the fact that he makes a living from the game. I hate Marlon King and any team that signs him when he gets out. I hate that it'll probably be us.

I hate Phil Brown.

I hate 'well the ball is a lot lighter now and will cause goalkeepers real problems this summer' before EVERY ****ING TOURNAMENT!

I hate that Kieron Dyer earned more in the time I took to write this post than I'll earn this month.

I hate radio football phone-ins.

I hate Gazza. Either die or shut up. Stop ****ing lingering.

I hate hearing about Hillsborough more than I hear about Heysel or Bradford.

I hate Leeds.

I hate Roy Keane.

I hate grown men wearing football shirts of their team whilst shopping on a saturday when their team is playing at home.

I hate that I don't hate Roy Hodgson.

I hate Jermaine Beckford and any player who has neck tattoos.

I hate songs being inappropriately taken as club anthems and then sung in a manly way. 'I'm forever blowing bubbles....'. Gaylords.

I hate Danny Dyer and anyone he's ever interviewed.

I hate the book 'Cass' by Cass Pennant. It is honestly the stupidest thing I've ever read. Chapter 1: Millwall. 'Yeah we took 50 to Millwall. They had 1000 in their mob but we ran 'em up and down the street'. Chapter 2: Liverpool. 'Yeah we took 50 to Liverpool. They had 2000 in their mob but we ran 'em up and down the street'. **** me... Jade Goody's autobiography is probably better. Even her non-ghost written one.

I hate that all good youngsters end their careers at Spurs before they start."
